CNY Drfit guys are currently working with Skyview drags and Shangri-la 2 owners to start a weekly drift program at Shangri-la 2. Last Friday was the second meet at Shangri-la 2 for open drift. A five dollar entrance fee and 15 dollar race fee gets you access to both oval track for open drift and the drag strip to get your 1/8 miles times. I have been to many drag strips in ny and Skyview is the nicest facility. The oval track is not ideal for drifting but George, the track owner seems very interested in investing what ever it takes to make the drifting events work out. With a little support/patience from the drifting community this could be a very good start to getting our own well suited drifting facilities on the East Coast.
