pretty much all of you know me from the numerous car forums I am on. Most of you know that I am into Hondas/Acuras than any other brand of car. I have my 1992 hatchback that was turbo last year with a SOHC and I barely drove it with the new"er" motor in it. I recently test drove a Nissan 350z and i will admit i like them also. I am still working on my hatch seeing how I have bought around 3 grand to 4 grand more in parts for it since I have started my new job at World Kitchen Inc. but would much rather have something like the 350z to daily drive seeings how it has luxeries which unfortunatly the hatch has none of.
anyways enough of the bullshit and here is my car/me and my car/ my bank account robber
oh and this is what i was looking into for a daily driver

350 for a daily would be pretty sweet!

so your keeping the hatch? wasnt sure what you were up to
Hodge
02-01-2010, 10:20 PM
yea i decided to keep it awhile ago after the s2000 wasn't what i was hoping it would have been condition wise cuz it was beat... I can afford to make the hatch nicer and then after my 6 month probation is over and i find out our new union contract got passed im going to be getting a new daily possibly the 350z as long as they still have it since i like the color and like the track edition model

350's are nice cars, but then your stuck in the same position, 2 cars that you wont want to drive in the winter (350z ftl, and turbo honda ftl in the snow)

02-02-2010, 10:26 AM
Hodge you know the Z isn't going to be around. The only chance if its someone personally selling it but even that is slim after 6 months. Either way you should be able to find one you like when the time comes. I still think you should get an EVO.

thats cuz ur a mitsubishi guy haha... what really decides on what car i get is which i can afford to have since im thinking about moving down to lawrenceville with my buddy that i work with and his girlfriend... he is the one with the dsm i was telling you about how he was looking for dsmlink... his other roommate is Zack Hurd he has the yellow evo 8

i would much rather an evo or sti around here than a 350z

^ Exactly, why have 2 cars that are horrible in the snow? AWD FTW. Hell even get an STI, just trying to be more practical.

hey guys...be practical i drive a 1992 ford mustang lx convertible 2.3L RWD in the winter.... anything is better than that in the winter

thats probably not as bad (traction wise) as youd think, i mean the no rear window has to suck horribly though

uhh lets see when we get any snow fall over 2 inches i cant go anywhere cuz all it does is spin the passenger side wheel...the no back window isnt as bad as you would think...the only time it kinda sucks is if im at a stop light and the wind is behind me other than that the heat is always on and always warm

I know how ya feel man..The Eclipse didn't have A/C so I was sweating my ass off all summer. Look forward to seeing it all finished up!
If you did get the Z worst case scenario you have to get snow tires. After driving that old Mustang I can't see you having a problem with a Z during the winter months. Besides you guys don't get enough snow to justify buying an AWD car just because of the winter months. Fucking snows everyday here :(
Hodge
02-05-2010, 08:42 PM
yea true that i have been happy with the little amount of snow we have had this year. Its not more or less about the RWD or AWD thing its more or less the fact that after driving awd+boost and feeling how much grip it has and how much better it feels is something i would rather have honestly, plus the ability to keep some luxeries and still have a fast car

So what i have been up to lately. I ordered an ASR subframe brace/ blox lower control arms in gold from JHPUSA 2 weeks ago(still havent recieved it due to the fact they didnt tell me it was on back order for a week, should be here tommorow). I got in my ARP headstuds and my skunk2 shocks 2 weeks ago also. Then on my long weekend i found a gem in Rochester went up test drove it fell in love with it and then went to get an auto loan to have them say sure you can have it but you need a cosigner due to the fact you have been working for this company for less than a year. I wish i would have been saving my money or else i would have put down a large chunk of change towards it. This is what i test drove and hopefully in a couple of weeks ill have $5k to put down once I get my taxes in and what ill be driving around in!

Good Choice. The evo will def be funner and more practical then the 350z.
I have always liked those cars, I want to get eventually too!

so i debated on myself with the pros and cons of buying the evo, and the biggest thing was i would end up working in a factory working swing shifts for a lot longer time than I would ever want to be working there. Right now im looking into buying a Supersonic Blue 98 Integra GS-R and driving that until I save up some more money to finish up with school.
this weather really makes me wish hearing my BOV and turbo spool up though :(

It's always nice to have toys but if you're not going to be completely happy or busting ass to have them it's not worth it man. I think you're making a pretty responsible decision by at least thoroughly thinking things through.

well I thought things through again and I realized that impulse buying a car that would have costed 21,000 after tax title and everything else just wasnt what i was looking for right now. I did however find an 03 evo 8 rs for 16k, with the 4k ive saved since the last evo the monthly payments will be about half as much as the 05 evo. This is something I can afford and pay off more quickly than the loan is for. This one is a red evo which is still really nice. The reason i still want to get an evo is because after going from my hatch which was a fun/quick car and i could mess around with a lot of cars that would be dicks to me first since I wouldnt start a race unless its with one of my friends messing around. I saw so many mustangs/cobalts/camaros/hondas/other somewhat quick cars out the other day it really made me wish i wasnt driving my mustang or a tahoe around. I know i would like the integra because its s super nice color and clean I just know i wouldnt be able to mess with anyone if they wanted to mess around with me

That sounds like a really decent deal for the Evo man and i'm sure you are totally aware of the unlimited potential of those cars. In all honesty if you know what you're doing you can build a damn quick one for pretty damn cheap :)
I'm with ya on seeing all the nice cars out last week... neither of my cars are road ready right now and it was just killing me :(

I completely forgot you were looking for an evo. One just sold the other day for 12k that was in great condition it was an 03 8 with 78k and a few small mods. I know what you mean with seeing all the cars out which really gives me motivation to get my ass in gear. I don't know what you make but is the evo going to be something you can afford and live comfortably and be able to buy a few mods here and there if you get that little impulse to buy them.

well yea its something I could live comfortably with and i could get parts for if I wanted. The 03 Evo I was looking at sold already, too many people in ROC that would want it.
I talked to Walushka today about his Type-R, I am prolly going to buy that since im sick of looking into cars that get sold before I can even get a chance to go look at them

Get an insurance quote for the type- r first before you buy it...I think you will be suprised @ how much more the premium is over a base model integra...

his car is pretty damn nice, but a much much much nicer car can be bought/built for the money

meh. its a type-r with a/c! and its boosted...im gonna see if I can drive it down to Carlisle this saturday and throw it on the dyno. Plus the car is super clean. Its jackson racing supercharged with a tri-y header and exhaust, tuned on s300
Yeah I contacted my insurance company for a price quote on insurance, I dont really care how much it will be though. With how much I work I wouldnt have a problem paying for it especially with summer coming up and the fact I will probably be working 2 or 3 overtime shifts per month will pay for insurance.
