New front brakes and an Oil change (synthetic rotella) 6/19/2010
I have a 5 speed 99.5 Volkswagen Jetta TDI for sale. Runs and drives great!!! Ive started it up in the morning when its -5 out with no problems!!! The transmission sifts smooth and the clutch is strong. The wheels are Falken 17inch rims with good tires both bought this spring. Great long distance commuter. This is my daily driver but it is time for me to buy a truck. Im only interested in motorcycles, powerstroke and cummins diesels, property, housing, tools, heavy equipment, and sleep aboard boats for trade.
230k on it previous owner (Older Woman) had it regularly serviced at Dorshall VW in Rochester, I just pulled VW rotors and pads off when I did the front brakes.
Pulled the cover and looked at the timing belt to try and get an idea of when it was done. The belt seemed to be in good condition and the idlers and tensioner looked to be in good shape too.( Looking for wear marks, tarnish and loss of shine to the idlers and tensioner as well as the condition of the print on the backside of the belt.) Id guess 50k old perhaps but certainly not 100k. I planned on changing it within the next 20k for safety.
The Check engine light is on because of the heater grid for the glow plugs but the car starts without fail every time so I didn't bother replacing it.
The drivers side rear abs sensor is bad causing an abs light I hate abs so I didnt bother changing that either.
I drive the car 700 to 1500 miles a week and would trust it to do laps across the country. I change the oil regularly with rotella T synthetic.
Black Cloth, crank, and AM FM, but the factory wiring is in place for 6 disk in the trunk. I have a set of leather passat heated front seats that are offered with the car to switch the covers off of.
Any questions call, text or email 24/7. This car will sell quick!!!
Thanks,
Matt
